European car sales slump as scrappage schemes are wound down

The automotive forecasting group JD Power said West European seasonally adjusted annualized sales fell to 12.8 million units a
year by the end of June. Car sales in Germany slumped by 32.2 per cent after Berlin brought to an end last year its so-called cash-for-clunkers scheme. The
